Worth the premium over the less expensive Astro multimeter

I've been using Astro's less expensive multimeter since 2020. Great unit, nothing I can complain about. I recently upgraded to this meter because I needed to be able to read capacitance, which is not available on the cheaper model.

As much as I like my old Astro, skip it and get this one if possible.

In addition to having more features like capacitance, it auto-detects DC voltage, so no more fiddling with the settings there. It also--and this is crucial--gives you units of measure on the LCD. Measuring something like resistance on the old unit would require a little deduction and math re: decimals of ohms converted in your head to milliohms, etc. Finally, the build quality is so much better. Testing for continuity now means instantaneous beeping for shorts, and the probes are sharper and sturdier.

Great multimeter for DIYer.

Works perfect so far (2 months). Thought it would feel cheap but feels well made. I think this is a perfect multimeter for a DIYer.

Excellent Digital Multimeter!

I used this AstroAI Digital Mutimeter to measure the voltage coming from a power brick. I especially liked that I didn't have to set it to the proper voltage type or range ahead of time. It automatically figured that out itself. This is a great product for an amateur like me.(!)

Seems to work well and a good product. The layout is much like the big name meters and all of the functions I have used so far work well. For the price point, I feel it was a good value.
