Very good bang for your buck

Bought it not expecting much since it costs less than lunch for 2 people, so far it’s been easy to use and it’s pretty accurate after calibration for first start up! Pretty good deal for a back up to the main one I use and the battery lasts all day. Recommended if you need a quick compatible paint meter.

Must have when used car shopping

A paint thickness gauge is a must have along with a magnet in a cloth when used car shopping. The paint gauge can tell you what areas have been repainted since factory new and a magnet over a suspected area can tell you if Bondo filler is present hiding a dent repair. This unit is easy to use and has reasonable battery life. I found it to be fairly accurate, and it was good value for money spent. You will often see used car evaluators at dealerships with one of these to inspect your trade in or car you want to sell them. Protect yourself when buying a used car and get one of these. Even if you use it one time to inspect cars you want to buy, it is cheap insurance protecting you from hidden paint / damage issues.
